Fungicide

High quality, cost effective solution for disease management in maize and sugarcane.

A suspo-emulsion fungicide, with contact and translaminar properties, for the preventive control of diseases in maize and sugarcane as indicated.

Benefits

AgCelence® benefits:

  • Excellent disease control
  • Increased stress tolerance
  • Increased plant growth efficiency

Opera® delivers

Reliability: The powerful synergystic action of F500® and epoxyconazole delivers proven performance in the control of Rust, Northern leaf blight and Grey leaf spot in maize, and Brown rust in sugarcane.

Flexibility: Opera® is registerd for both ground and aerial application, with a dedicated recommendation for the regions with lower density planting, to deliver effective, high performance results in maize. In Sugarcane, Opera® is registered for ground application with a variable dose rate, depending on the disease pressure. This allows farmers the benefit of the AgCelence®-effect at a lower dose rate, and the peace of mind to spray the higher rate if environmental conditions are conducive to the development of the disease, or when disease pressure is high, and threatning the harvest. Use the higher rate when environmental conditons are condusive to the development of the disease, or when disease pressure is high.

Apart from fungicidal activity,F500®, one of the active ingredients of Opera®, exhibits the potential to increase plant physiological effects which are beneficial to the crop. In growing number of regions including the USA, UK, Europe, Brazil and Argentina, F500® is also registered and recommended as a plant health remedy to increase yields. Research conducted locally has proven that the use of Opera®, according to label recommendations, can also increase yield even in situations when low disease pressure occur.

The compatibility of Opera® has been proven with Roundup® Powermax (L7769), Fastac® EC (L4991) and Fastac® SC (L4992). It is however always recommended that the compatibility of Opera® with other herbicides, insecticides and acaricides, have to be tested on a small scale, before used in spray mixtures. DO NOT use any additional wetters, spreaders or other adjuvants as Opera® has already been formulated with optimised amounts of surfactants. The only exception is in regions where water quality is known to be poor. Use a flowable (50%) high quality ammonium sulphate, at a 2% dilution (see applicable label) to ameliorate the water before adding Opera®.

Information on crops and pests

Pests Recommended rate Time of application Number of application
Common rust 750ml/ha Opera® Apply the first application of Opera® at growth stage 31 (first node detectable above the soil surface, also described as the 5 – 6 leaf stage). A second application of Opera® is recommended at growth stage 51 (tassel detectable). If extended disease control is required under continued high disease pressure conditions, a third application with Duett® (L5791) is recommended, 3 - 4 weeks later. 2
Grey leaf spot 750ml/ha Opera® Apply the first application of Opera® at growth stage 31 (first node detectable above the soil surface, also described as the 5 – 6 leaf stage). A second application of Opera® is recommended at growth stage 51 (tassel detectable). If extended disease control is required under continued high disease pressure conditions, a third application with Duett® (L5791) is recommended, 3 - 4 weeks later. 2

Pests Recommended rate Time of application Number of application
Brown rust (Sugarcane) 750 mL – 1L Opera® on Sugarcane: Apply two applications. The first application is to be applied as a preventive application at the 4 – 6 leaf stage, or at the first sign of infection. Apply the second application 4 weeks later.Use the higher rate when environmental conditions are conducive to the development of the disease, or when disease pressure is high. Ground application: Apply as a full cover spray in 200 l water / ha. 2
