Hunter® 24 SC – Translaminar insecticide with stomach and contact activity for the control of potato tuber moth larvae in potatoes and red spider mite in tomatoes.

As a farmer you cannot afford to have your crop damaged by insects and mites. Therefore, you need a preventive product such as Hunter® 24 SC – a highly effective foliar insecticide with a unique mode of action.

Hunter® 24 SC:

  • Contains 240 g / ℓ chlorfenapyr.
  • Is a formulated pro-insecticide for effective mite control in tomatoes.

  • Is rainfast within one hour after application.
  • Has excellent translaminar mobility in the leaf.
  • Shows outstanding residual activity, especially on mites.
  • Has improved mammalian toxicology profile over older chemistry.
  • Is a formulated pro-insecticide for effective mite control in tomatoes.
  • Does not affect the nervous system of the insect, but suppresses its energy factory, namely the mitochondria and as a result it dies.
  • Has limited effect on beneficials, as after application affected species generally re-establish populations rapidly.
  • Is effective on potato tuber moth larvae in potatoes and red spider mite in tomatoes.

Information on crops and pests

Pests Recommended rate Time of application Number of application
Common red spider 50 ml / 100 lt water Hunter™ 24 - Apply from 75% petal drop when banded fruit weevils have been observed in cardboard traps or feeding on lower shoots. In high infestation situations early in the season, a second application must be made 14 days later. Regular monitoring for banded fruit weevil must be maintained throughout the season and if a third application is necessary, an unrelated product such as Fastac® SC should be used. Apply as a high volume spray, using the tree row volume formula to determine the volume of water to use per hectare.Ensure thorough wetting of the entire tree. See also GENERAL DIRECTIONS and RESISTANCE WARNINGS. 1
Pests (Insects & Rodents) 50 ml / 100 lt water Hunter® 24 - Regular orchard inspections are essential. At the first sign of adult female mites, a single application must be made. Apply as a high volume spray using tree row volume formula to determine the volume of water to be used per hectare. Ensure thorough wetting of the entire tree. Should mites recur in the orchards, an adulticide, which has a short pre–harvest interval, should be applied. See also GENERAL DIRECTIONS and RESISTANCE WARNINGS 1
Thrips (Thripidae) 50 ml / 100 lt water Hunter® 24 - Apply at early blossom (before bees are introduced to the orchard) and repeat at the same dosage at 75 % petal drop (after bees have been removed). Apply as a high volume spray using the tree row volume formula to determine the volume of water to use per hectare. Ensure thorough wetting of the entire tree. These treatments will also control banded fruit weevil and early infestations of red spider mite, if present at application. See also GENERAL DIRECTIONS and RESISTANCE WARNINGS. 2

Pests (Insects & Rodents) DIRECT APPLICATION - 60 ml / 100 lt water. OVERALL APPLICATION - 300 ml / ha. HOME GARDEN - 6 ml / 10 lt water. Hunter® 241. DIRECTED ROW APPLICATION: Low infestations: Commence application soon after transplanting (when plants are established) and repeat every 7 – 10 days.High infestations Spray intervals must be reduced to seven days, as well as during warm weather conditions. Hunter™ 24 should be used as a preventive treatment and not as a corrective treatment. Spray the whole plant to the point of run–off. Use from 200 lt spray mixture / ha on small plants and increase to 600ℓ spray mixture / ha as plants grow. SPRAY A MINIMUM OF 1, 2 lt SPAY MIXTURE / 100 m PLANTED ROW. The addition of a wetter is recommended. For resistance management, it is recommended not to apply more than four sprays per growing season. Replace later applications with products having different modes of action.2. OVERALL APPLICATION: Apply as recommended above with DIRECTED ROW APPLICATION, but use 600 – 800 lt water / ha.3. HOME GARDEN: Apply Hunter® 24 preventively. Apply the first spray soon after transplanting, when seedlings are established. Spray entire plant to the point of run–off. Repeat applications every 7 – 10 days. Do not apply more than four applications, but use other registered remedies with a different mode of action, later in the season if necessary. In orchards where mealy bug is a regular pest, use only when it is under commercial control. See also GENERAL DIRECTIONS under DIRECTIONS FOR USE above.Pre–and post-flowering period: Apply 5 – 10 lt spray mixture / tree according to tree size, when thrips is noticed. Do not apply more than three times per season and not later than mid-December.

Common red spider Ground Application – 0,9 m of 1,0 m rows: 750 ml / ha. Ground Application – wider rows: 7.5 ml / 100 m row. Hunter® 24 - Commence application as soon as the economic threshold level of the spider mite population is reached or exceeded for a given growth stage OR when the spider mite population index shows a sudden increase from one week to the next. Weekly scouting of the cotton plants is essential to ensure efficient population monitoring.Ground application – 0, 9 or 1, 0 m rows: Boom and nozzle: Apply in 300 lt water / ha ensuring thorough coverage of all parts of the plant.Ground application – wider rows: In the case of dry–land plantings where cotton is grown in tramline rows, apply this rate in 3 lt water per 100 m row and use nozzles over the row as well as on drop–arms to ensure good coverage of the whole plant.

Potato tuber moth Hunter® 24Ground application: Apply preventively as a full cover spray from when the first moths are present. Apply in a minimum of 500ℓ spray mix / ha. Repeat application every 14 days. Regular monitoring for potato tuber moth must be maintained throughout the season. It is recommended to reduce the spray interval to seven days when conditions of rapid crop growth occur and / or with high infestations of tuber moth larvae. Ensure that proper ridging has been practised at least twice during the growing season of the crop. In cases where the tubers are to be left in the ground for any period of time, ensure that there are no cracks in the soil. The efficacy of the product can be negatively influenced when cracks in the soil occur, where moths can gain access to potato tubers. Aerial application: As above for ground application by applying in 40ℓ water / ha.
